Smart Pack Group is a company that is located in New Zealand and Australia. They focus on new packaging systems in agriculture, food production and manufacturing industries.
As the Senior WordPress developer, our role was to start afresh and reconstruct the whole site. There were only 7 days on a strict schedule of the project. The client was happy with the current design but had several technical problems. The key issue was to restructure the site which would resolve the many issues.
Unnecessary plugins and scripts resulted in low website speeds and performance. The back-end was messy and hard to understand by the administration team. The inability to manage the website was as a result of bad structure. Various plugins were used to add features which resulted in unwanted dependencies. The same design had to be upheld. The site was required to be lightweight and quick loading. Simple and easy to use backend management was required.
Smart Pack Group offers efficient and up to date packaging solutions. They have bulk bags and laminate pouches in their product range. The company deals with customized packaging that is sustainable and efficient. They aim to satisfy the unique needs of a client and still ensure that they provide high quality services.
The Smart Pack Group web page was implemented successfully and on time (7 days). The following were the attained results. The same exact website design was used. This has fulfilled the expectations of the client and maintained their brand identity. The site had reduced faster load time with less amount of plugins and optimized code. Organization of navigation got easier. The server was made simpler and structured.
I took the structure I wanted to be clean in order to deliver the intended results effectively. Emphasis was placed on performance, usability and maintainability. All features were checked and then pasted.
The Elementor Pro built up the site. This has enabled the design to be flexible while maintaining simplicity and consistency of layout. It also assisted the original design not to be compromised.
Other features that were considered vital were custom coded as heavy plugins were developed earlier. This minimized reliance on third party applications and enhanced performance.
The various plugin post types and fields were eliminated. Clean custom coded solution was adopted based on Advanced Custom Fields ACF.
The functionality was maintained in the same way. A faster more stable website was also a consequence of this.
